Step-by-Step: Designing Your Footer Menu
🔔 Before You Start
The Gallus Customer Service team typically handles initial setup. If you're starting without a Footer Menu, you can easily add one at any time. You also have the flexibility to disable the Footer Menu if you prefer to focus on your Side Menu or just the Home Screen.
The Footer Menu appears on most screens throughout the app to ensure quick access to key features. However, it is intentionally hidden on select pages to maintain a clean, focused user experience. Currently, the Footer Menu does not appear on the following pages:
Accounts Stats, Profile, Cards, Orders and Settings
Scorecard & GPS, Driving Range GPS, Leaderboards and Score Posting
Memberships/Subscriptions, Rewards, and Loyalty Programs
From the Quick Start page, click App Studio OR under Customize App, click Footer Menu
This will open the App Studio - Footer Menu in a new tab window.
🧠 Step 2: Understanding Items
Items are the building "blocks" of your footer menu and link to a single pieces of content. You can add your own Items, and take advantage of Prebuilt Items to save some time.
What are Prebuilt Items?
Look for the ⭐️ star icon — these prebuilt items are tied to specific app features. You can still customize their labels and icons giving you some control. Learn more about how Prebuilt Items work!
What are Items?
Items are single pieces of content in your Footer Menu. They can link to an App Page, Website, Phone Number, or Email Address.
Let's break down an Item:
Field Name
What You Can Do
Label
This is what your customers will see in your Footer Menu. Required.
Action Type
What happens when someone taps the item:
Link to App Page
Link to URL
Link to Tel
Link to Email
Required.
Icon Picker
Choose an icon that represents your item. You can search for icons or upload your own SVG. Required.
✏️ Step 3: Create Your Items
Add a Label
Choose the Action Type
Choose or upload your Icon
Note: As soon as you create a Footer Menu item, it will be toggled on. If you're not ready to display it in your live app, simply toggle off.
🎨 Step 4: Design & Order
Drag and drop items to reorder
Toggle items on/off at any time
Toggle all items off to hide the Footer Menu
Reminder: If your Footer Menu contains fewer than 3 items or more than 5 items, it will not be shown in the preview or in your live app. Please ensure you have between 3 and 5 items for the Footer Menu to display properly.
