How to Send Push Notifications from Customers

Overview

Send targeted push notification messages to engage your customers directly from the Customer Dashboard. You can message individual customers, specific groups, or your entire customer base to drive app engagement and boost business results. 

Before You Begin

  1. Customer Dashboard (Subscriptions) feature is enabled 
    1. Don't have this feature yet? Place a support request to get it enabled today! 
  2. Customer data populated via your app or manual import
  3. Access to Customer Dashboard via Manager

Step-by-Step Guide

Access Customer Dashboard

  1. From the Quick Start Page in your admin dashboard, click Customer Dashboard 

  2. A new tab opens with the Customer Dashboard. Click on Customers to view your customer list

Define Your Audience

  1. On the Customers page, click the Message button
    1. To message all customers or those listed on the screen: Click Message without applying any filters
    2. To message a filtered group: Apply your filters first, then click Message. 

Complete the Send Message Wizard


      1. Step 1: Audience
      2. Select who will receive your message: 
        1. Broadcast - All customers, including those without an account
        2. Current Results - Customers which are visible on the Customer's page 
        3. Selected - Individual Customers you've manually selected 

      1. Step 2: Message
      2. Compose your message (up to 178 characters) 
        1. Push notifications are currently limited to 178 characters.

      1. Step 3: Timing
      2. Choose when to send your message: 
        1. Immediate: Send right away
        2. Scheduled: Set a future date and time

    1. Step 4: Action
    2. Choose where the notification will take customers when tapped: 
        1. Open your App's Home Screen
        2. Open a website (URL)
        3. Open an App Page, such as: 
          1. Food & Beverage
          2. Leaderboard
          3. News (main page)
          4. Rewards
          5. Subscriptions
          6. Tee Times
          7. Custom App Pages (created in Manager, e.g., Golf Tips, Special Offers, etc.)
        4. NOTE: Additional App page options may be added in future releases. 

    1. Step 5: Summary
    2. Review your message details: 
      1. Audience: Who will receive it (broadcast, current results or selected)
      2. Message: Your message
      3. Timing: When it will be sent
      4. Action: Destination when a customer taps the push notification 
  1. Click Send to immediately send immediately or schedule for later


  2. Your Push Notification will live over in the Manager Push Notifications. 

Managing Scheduled Pushes

  1. To view or delete scheduled pushes, go to Push Notifications > Scheduled in Gallus Manager
  2. On the Scheduled page, click on the Trash can for the message you'd like to delete (unschedule). 

Viewing Push Notification Analytics

To view the push notification analytics, complete the following steps:
  1. From the Quick Start Page in your admin dashboard, click Push Notifications
  2. Analytics will display for each sent message, including: 

    1. Message Details: Date, time, message, audience and action
    2. Platforms: All (Devices the message was sent to iOS & Android)
    3. Sent To: The number of customers who received your push notification
    4. Direct Response: The number of customers open your app directly after getting a push notification. 
    5. Influenced Response: The number of customers who opened your app within a certain time window after getting the push notification (e.g., got the notification, ignored it at first, but then remembered it and opened the app later that day).
