How The Golf Genius Integration Works

This article will outline the necessary steps to enable the Gallus Golf & Golf Genius integration, along with necessary background on the admin and user experience.

Before You Begin

Make sure to have a basic understanding of Golf Genius by visiting their website. If you would like more information on Gallus Golf's native tournament software, please visit this article.

User Experience

Users will join a tournament in the exact same fashion as a typical Gallus Tournament Wizard event (click here for more info). Here are the exact steps:
  1. Open the app that is hosting the event.
  2. Click on the tournament banner at the top of the page.

  3. Select your name from the list that appears.

  4. Confirm that all of the information displayed is correct, then click Confirm & Start.

  5. Click your starting hole number.

  6. Keep score as necessary by clicking Record Strokes. Any score entered into your Gallus Golf app will automatically be exported into the event in Golf Genius.

  7. To view the leaderboard, click Leaderboard in the bottom-left of any of the pages.

Linking Gallus Golf and Golf Genius

  1. Log into your Golf Genius account.
  2. Click on Customer Settings at the top of the screen, then Managers.

  3. Click Add New Manager at the top-left of the ensuing screen.

  4. Enter Gallus Golf as the manager name and enter the email your account manager gave you when you signed up for the integration.

    1. If you have not been given an email address to enter in, please reach out to support@gallusgolf.com and specify that you are looking for your Golf Genius integration email address.
  5. DONE! We will do the rest and notify you when your integration is ready to use.

Enabling Live-Scoring In Your Gallus Golf Mobile App For An Event

Before The Event

  1. Create your event in Golf Genius.
  2. Make sure your Event is in the Current (Default) "Season". 
    1. Click Rounds in the menu bar at the top of the page.

    2. Click the toggle next to Enable Mobile Score Entry to Yes.

    3. Click In Progress in the Round Status section on tournament day to make the scoring appear in your app.

    4. Log into your Gallus Admin Dashboard.
    5. On the Quick Start page, click Events.

    6. A list of all events displays. Find the name of your Viper event and click the box beneath Course.

    7. Select the Gallus course from the list.

    8. DONE! Your Golf Genius course is now mapped to your GPS course in Gallus. Be sure to check this page before every event to ensure the course is properly mapped.
      9. Notes
      Once a Golf Genius course is mapped with a Gallus course, the system will remember it for next time. It's still a good practice to check this page before every event to ensure users can see all of the course information while they're keeping score in the app.
    9. DONE! Users will see a link on your home screen to join the event on tournament day.

    After The Event

    1. Log into your Golf Genius dashboard and access the event you'd like to disable.
    2. Click Rounds in the menu bar at the top of the event page.

    3. Turn the toggle for mobile score entry to Off and set the Round Status to Completed.
