Overview

Make a great first impression — every time.  With App Onboarding, you can customize what users see the very first time they open your app. Update your welcome image and logo, apply a white gradient (or not), and tailor the push permissions screen to reflect your brand and encourage engagement. 
Alert
Updating the logo or background images require an email to support.  Text updates instantly. 

When & Why to Customize Onboarding

  1. Rebranding or logo updates
  2. Seasonal refreshes (spring/summer/fall/winter)
  3. Highlight new reasons to ensure customers create an account and enable push notifications (if CRM is enabled)

What to Expect

You'll be able to update:
  1. Welcome Screen background image
  2. Welcome Screen logo (with optional white gradient)
  3. Welcome Screen text
  4. Permissions Screen background image
  5. Permissions Screen text
Moving to the new Design Your App - Style:
  1. Home Screen background image (or use the 'new' color option)
  2. Home Screen logo (with optional white gradient)
  3. Primary Color
  4. Secondary Color
  5. Action Color
  6. Themes - with the Home Screen layout builder you can design your own custom look and feel 

Step-by-Step: Customizing Onboarding

🔔 Before You Start

Alert
The Gallus Customer Service team handles the initial app onboarding setup during launch, but you're free to make changes at any time. Just remember to email support if you make any changes to a background image or logo. 

🌐 Step 1: Log in to Gallus Manager

  1. Log in to the Gallus Manager Dashboard


🎨 Step 2: Set Your Welcome Screen


  1. Upload your Welcome Background Image (JPG or PNG)
    1. Recommended size: 640 width by 960 height
    2. Click here for a Canva template. 
    3. ⚠️ Updating this field requires a manual app update - email support@gallusgolf.com if you change this field and we will submit the update for you.
  2. Upload your Logo 
    1. Recommended Size: 500 width x 230 height (build in padding) 
    2. Logo must be transparent and a png

  3. Toggle White Gradient ON/OFF to add a subtle fade behind your logo
  4. Craft a great Welcome Message - This is the message that appears at the bottom of this screen. Use this field to introduce users to their app, help them understand why creating an account is important (e.g., Welcome to [Your Course Name] App. Your all-in-one hub for tee times, rewards, events and more. Create an account to unlock exclusive offers and more.) 
    1. Best Practices:
      1. Lead with value; tell customers what's in it for them
      2. Keep it short and actionable; first impressions are fast

Pro Tip: Choose a visually engaging image that gives customers an immediate sense of your facility and pair it with an enticing message to get them excited for what's to come!

  3. Easily book tee times, join events, access rewards or become a member. Create your account to get started today!  

📣 Step 3: Customize the Permissions Screen


Encourage customers to opt in to push notifications by customizing the Permissions Onboarding Message.

  1. Upload a Permissions background image
    1. Recommended size: 640 width by 960 height
    2. Click here for a Canva template. 
    3. ⚠️ Updating this field requires a manual app update - email support@gallusgolf.com if you change this field and we will submit the update for you.
  2. Craft a engaging Permissions Message (e.g., Turn on notifications to get the latest news, tee times, events, and more.)
    1. Best Practices:
      1. Keep it short and persuasive
      2. User friendly, benefit-focused on why enabling push messages is important
      3. Use an image that doesn't distract from the importance of the message
