What's The Point?

Leagues often have separate Leaderboards for groups of players/teams based on skill level, gender, buy-in, etc. Flights allow a League coordinator to either generate groupings of participants either manually or automatically based on a set of criteria.

This article will outline the process of creating and managing flights within a League in the Gallus Events software.

Navigating To The Flights Section

  1. Log into your Gallus Admin Dashboard.
  2. On the Quick Start Page, click Events.

  3. Click Leagues in the top-right of the page.

  4. Select the League you'd like to manage Flights for.

  5. On the League checklist page, click Flights.

Adding A Flight Automatically By Criteria

  1. Select the round you'd like to add a flight for via the dropdown in the top-left.

  2. Click Add Flight.

  3. Enter the following information:

      1. Name of the flight.
      2. Score Format of the new Leaderboard that's automatically generated.
        1. This Leaderboard will use the default scoring format for the League and be in the selected round.
  4. Click the box next to Find participants to add to flight.

  5. Enter the following information:
    1. Gender.
      1. Male or Female (Both)
      2. Male
      3. Female
    2. Flight Create Type (choose between Handicap or Score).
      1. Handicap: Choose a range of Handicaps to be included.

          1. The fields support a range from -4 (which is actually a plus-4 index) through 50.
      2. Score: Choose a range of scores to be included after the event has concluded.

        1. Score Format
          1. Gross
            1. Takes gross scores into account.
          2. Net
            1. Takes net scores into account.
          1. The Score Range fields automatically display the min/max scores in relation to par inputted for the event you're editing. It's best to create this type of flight after the event and input scores within the starting range given by the system.
  6. Click Add to save your work.

LAST STEP: Now that the flight has been created, make sure to verify the proper leaderboard was added in the Leaderboards step. (Otherwise scoring for the flight will not appear anywhere.)

Adding A Flight Manually

After completing steps 1-3 above...
  1. Click Add.

  2. Click the flight name towards the bottom of the page.

  3. On the next page, click Add Team or Add Player (dependent on the tournament's scoring style).

  4. Begin typing in the team/individual you'd like to add. As long as they've been added to the tournament previously, they will appear as an autofill below. Click their name and then Add.

  5. Continue adding players/teams as necessary.
LAST STEP: Now that the flight has been created, make sure to verify the proper leaderboard was added in the Leaderboards step. (Otherwise scoring for the flight will not appear anywhere.)
