Before You Begin
What's The Point?
Coordinators running a tournament or league often want to automate as much of the process as possible. One of the most unwieldy parts of running an event is gathering all of the players' handicap indexes, calculating their individual course handicaps, and inputting it all into the Gallus Tournament Software. Wouldn't it be nice if the software could do all of this calculating for you?
Enter the
GHIN integration. Simply collect everyone's GHIN ID, tie each to their profile from within the event, and we'll do the rest: find their handicap index, calculate course handicap based on slope/rating of their selected tee, and apply any
handicap allowances for the event.

The most important part of this entire process is associating accurate
GHIN numbers to each player. Admins can use our Spreadsheet Import functionality for the most efficient data entry or input each player's info manually.
Option 1: Spreadsheet Import
To utilize this option, follow the steps outlined in our How Tournament Spreadsheet Imports Work article to download the template for the event. In the GHIN column, input each player's GHIN number accordingly. Once finished, upload the spreadsheet and everyone's course handicap will be accurately displayed within their profile.
Option 2: Manual Entry
Alternatively, event admins can input player data manually. For this method, add a player in the Players step and input their GHIN number in the field before clicking Search. If the number inputted matches a player's GHIN profile, the name and course handicap info will populate automatically.
