Manually Entering Info In The Gallus Tournament Software

Before You Begin

Make sure you have an adequate understanding of the Gallus Tournament Software by reading our Tournament Software Basics article.

What's The Point?

In order to run an event in the Gallus Tournament Software, players, groups, and, if necessary, teams must be entered. This is one of three methods to enter player data in the Gallus Golf Tournament Software. Below are the other two options (click for articles with full instructions:

Steps To Complete

For A Team Scoring Event

Adding Teams & Players

    1. From the main tournament page, click Teams.

    2. On the ensuing page, click Add Team.

    3. Enter the team name (and course handicap if necessary), then click Add.

    4. A new box appears within the team to enter player details. Enter their information accordingly:

        1. GHIN Number
          1. Input the player's GHIN number to autofill the rest of the information and automatically calculate their course handicap.
        2. First Name
        3. Last Name
        4. Gender
          1. Select the player's gender to apply the proper hole handicaps and pars for them.
        5. Handicap
          1. Refers to the course handicap of the player, which must be precalculated by the tournament manager.
            1. Need a quick tool to calculate course handicap? Visit the USGA's Course Handicap Calculator.
    5. Continue adding players to the respective team until all are entered.
    6. Repeat the above steps to add all of your teams.
    7. TIP: Click and hold the arrows next to player names to drag/drop them to a different team.

Adding Groups

  1. When finished, click Groups on the main tournament checklist page.

  2. On the ensuing page, choose between the following:
    1. Add Group to select groups manually.

        1. Tee Time

        2. Shotgun

    2. Auto Generate to identify parameters:
      1. Start Type: Shotgun or Tee Time
        1. Shotgun

            1. Players Per Group
            2. Max Groups Per Hole
            3. Starting Positions
              1. Choose how many groups should start from each hole (i.e., Only have one group start on a par 3, etc.)
            4. Grouping Preference
              1. Last Name
              2. Player Added
                1. Players are ordered based off the time they were added.
              3. Handicap
                1. Players are ordered based off their course handicap.
              4. Score
                1. This feature only works for the second round and any round thereafter. The players are ordered based off their current scores.
              5. Random
            5. Order
              1. Ascending (A to Z)
              2. Descending (Z to A)
        2. Tee Time

            1. Teams Per Group
            2. Mins between groups
            3. Starting hole(s)
              1. Choose which holes groups can tee off from, separated by commas (i.e., 1,10).
            4. Grouping Preference
              1. Team Name
              2. Handicap
                1. Players are ordered based off their course handicap.
              3. Score
                1. This feature only works for the second round and any round thereafter. The players are ordered based off their current scores.
              4. Random
            5. Order
              1. Ascending (A to Z)
              2. Descending (Z to A)
      2. Click Generate.
      3. DONE!

For An Individual Scoring Event

Adding Players

    1. From the main tournament checklist page (shown in previous section), click Players.

    2. On the ensuing page, click Add Player in the top-left of the screen.

    3. Enter all necessary player information, then click Add.

        1. GHIN Number
          1. Input the player's GHIN number to autofill the rest of the information and automatically calculate their course handicap.
        2. First Name
        3. Last Name
        4. Gender
          1. Select the player's gender to apply the proper hole handicaps and pars for them.
        5. Handicap
          1. Refers to the course handicap of the player, which must be precalculated by the tournament manager.

    4. Continue adding all of your players using the above steps.
