How Manual to Subscription Works
Transitioning from Manual to Recurring Subscription
To enable your customers to start paying for their Membership/Subscription directly within your app, follow these steps:
- Create the Membership/Subscription: Include at least one recurring price (monthly or annual).
- Upload Existing Members: Add your current members as customers and associate them with the new membership/subscription.
- Notify Members: Inform your members about this update and provide instructions to log in using their existing email address. They will use an OTP (One-Time Password) to verify their account.
Below is the user experience your customers will encounter when transitioning from a manual membership to a recurring subscription:
User Experience
Step-By-Step
Customers wishing to update from Manual to Subscription can follow these steps:
- Open your app.
- If not already logged in, customers must log in using the email address associated with their membership.
- On the Home Screen, the user can tap on the Card icon or the Subscriptions button (depending on how you configured it), to access their Membership/Subscription.
- If the customer's manual membership is set to expire within 30 days, they will see an alert on the card icon, on their card.
- They will also see alert messages when on your Subscriptions list screen, and their Manual membership/subscriptions benefit screen.
- In order to go from Manual to Subscription they need to tap on "Set Up" or "Set Up Auto Renewal" Button; this takes them to the order screen, where they can view the available recurring price options (one-time prices will not be displayed).
- Once they select their preferred recurring price they will enter their payment information to complete setup.
- Once payment is confirmed they will see a message letting them know auto-renewal is set up.
- All the 'alerts' will disappear and the customer can now manage their subscription, access benefits, and make updates directly in the app.
View Customer change from Manual to Subscription
- From the Quick Start Page in your admin dashboard, click Subscriptions
- A new tab will open up and on the ensuing page, use the search box to locate the customer by email address, or navigate to the Customers or Memberships menu items.
- In the customer’s Memberships tab, verify the status:
- The Manual membership will show as expired.
- The new Subscription membership will be marked as active.
By following these steps, you help ensure a smooth transition for your customers, enhancing their user experience and enabling ongoing subscription management within the app so you don't have to worry about it!
