Overview
With Visibility, you can control when content appears and who can see it. This allows you to personalize your
Home Screen and
Side Menu content for specific timeframes or user segments - keep your app relevant and dynamic.
🗓️ Start & End Dates
Schedule content to appear or disappear automatically from your app:
- Start Date: When your content becomes visible in your app
- End Date: When your content will stop appearing in your app
- Optional: Leave both blank to show content indefinitely
Where You Can Use Timing Controls:
- Home Screen - List Block Level: The entire block (and its grouped items) will follow the date settings
- Home Screen - Card Block or Card Item Level: The card block or card item (inside a List) will follow the date settings
- Side Menu - Item Level: The side menu item will follow the date settings
Pro Tip: Want to highlight rotating content like "Upcoming Events"? Keep the List Block visible year-round, and manage individual event items with Start/End Dates at the card level to ensure fresh, timely updates.
🧍Audience Targeting
Audiences require
Customer Dashboard/Subscriptions to be enabled. If this feature is not enabled, keep the Audience visibility setting at the default (
All Users) to ensure content remains visible. To take advantage of this great capability, please contact Customer Success to have your system updated to Customer Dashboard.
Control who can view specific content:
- All Users (Default): Everyone sees the content
- Logged in users: Only visible to customers who are signed into their app account
- Logged out users: Only visible to customers who are NOT logged into their app account
- Has active membership: Only visible to customers who currently have an active membership (user must be logged in)
- No active membership: Only visible to customers who currently do not have an active membership (user must be logged in)
- Specific Active Membership: Only visible to customers who currently have that specific active membership (user must be logged in)
- Multiple specific active memberships: When multiple Audiences are selected, the logic is OR. For example, if you select 10 Prepaid Round membership and Range membership, users who belong to either audience will see the content.
- If you do not want a specific membership to see content you would select ALL available memberships EXCEPT the one you don't want to see the content.
Where You Can Use Audience Controls:
- Home Screen - Cards: Assign an Audience to a content item (Card) so only that Audience can view it in your app
- Home Screen - List: Assign an Audience to a group of content items (List) so only that Audience can view it in your app
- Home Screen - Card within a List: Assign an Audience to a specific content item within a List so only that Audience can view it in your app (make sure to leave the List set to "All Users" if you're targeted at the card level)
- Side Menu - Item: Assign an Audience to a item so only that Audience can view it in your app
Pro Tip: Show specific content like billing links or special booking engines relevant to only members or high-value customer segments to create a personalized experience.

ℹ️ Visibility Chips
What each chip means
Each list and card in App Studio may display one or more chips that indicate its current visibility status. Use these to quickly check whether content is reaching the audience you expect.
- 🔵 Audience targeted - this means it's set to display for a specific audience rather than the default "All users." Only those of the selected audience will see it in the app. If you expect content to be visible to everyone but it's not showing up, check whether this chip is present.
- 🟣 Upcoming - this means it has a scheduled start date that hasn't arrived yet, so it is not currently visible in the app. The content will automatically appear once the start date is reached.
- 🟠 Expired - this means the end date has already passed, so the content is no longer visible in the app. Expired content is hidden automatically and will not reappear unless you edit the item and update its end date.
- No chip = no visibility settings have been set
