How The User Profile Works
What is the User Profile?
The User Profile is the personalization hub of your app, giving each golfer a centralized space to manage their in-app experience. From this area, users can access their profile information, set preferred preferences if
custom fields are enabled, view
round history, review scoring
statistics, manage
push notification preferences, and
post scores to a handicap service - all in one place.
Why It's Important
The User Profile is a critical touchpoint for user engagement, retention, and data collection. Ensuring users can easily access and update their profile creates a sense of ownership and digital identity within the app. By curating their own preferences customers can receive a more tailored app experience, which directly drives long-term loyalty. Furthermore, a well-maintained profile provides the clients with zero-party actionable data, allowing for smarter communication and a more seamless connection with your customers.

Best Practices
Encourage users to create their account on first use (see
Download Promo Banner to help encourage account creation) along with App Onboarding - Welcome screen. Round history recovery is only possible if an email address was entered before the user starts to play their rounds of golf.
Communicate the value of the User Profile. Many users may not explore the profile section without guidance. Using the
Download Promo Banner and highlighting features like scoring stats and score posting with a
popup or
latest news article increases adoption and engagement.
Leverage Custom Fields intentionally. These tools are powerful for segmentation and personalization. Work can with your internal team to define how these fields are used before configuring them in the app.
