How League Rosters Work

Before You Begin

What's The Point?

The heartbeat of any League is the Players that participate within it. League Coordinators will first need to add their League Roster before their League can begin scoring. This article will outline the options available to coordinators along with detailed instructions for each.

Navigating To The League Roster Section

  1. Log into your Gallus Admin Dashboard.
  2. On the Quick Start Page, click Events.

  3. Click Leagues in the top-right of the page.

  4. Select the League you'd like to upload a spreadsheet for.

  5. On the League checklist page, click League Roster.

Adding Players

  1. Click Add Player.

  2. Input the following details:

      1. GHIN Number
        1. Inputting their GHIN number will automatically fill in fields 2-5 below and set you up for automated course handicap management for future League rounds
      2. First Name
      3. Last Name
      4. Gender
      5. Course Handicap
      6. Team (If necessary)
  3. Click More Details to add the following:

      1. Email
        1. This field is of particular importance if you're planning to use the Events Push Notification integration for easy messaging. Inputting the same email here as what the user has in the profile of their app will ensure they receive Targeted Push Notifications.
      2. Phone
  4. When satisfied, click Add. Continue adding more players as necessary.

Editing Players

  1. Click the player you'd like to edit.

  2. On the ensuing page, click the Edit pencil.

  3. Fill out the information as necessary, then click Update.

Updating Player Tee Boxes

All players are automatically assigned to the default tee that was selected on the Create League page. If you're utilizing the GHIN integration for course handicap updates and like to change the tee box for specific players, please view our How Multiple Tee Box Support Works article for detailed instructions.

Updating Course Handicaps For Specific Rounds Manually

  1. Select the round through the dropdown on the top-left.


  2. Select the player from the list.

  3. Click the Edit pencil at the top-left.

  4. On the ensuing page, click the Course Handicap dropdown and select their new course handicap.


      1. This value should be the fully calculated course handicap with the player's index and the course slope/rating taken into account.
      2. If you'd like the software to do this for you automatically, please input their GHIN number and use the Update GHIN button at the top of the League Roster page for your desired round. (Please click here for more information on the GHIN integration.)

  5. Click Update to save your work.

Updating Course Handicaps For Specific Rounds with Drop Down

  1. Select the round through the dropdown on the top-left.


    1. Once in the correct round, click the dropdown in the Course Handicap column for each player you'd like to edit. The page will automatically reload once a selection is made and will apply the adjustment to all future rounds. 

  1. This value should be the fully calculated course handicap with the player's index and the course slope/rating taken into account.
  2. If you'd like the software to do this for you automatically, please input their GHIN number and use the Update GHIN button at the top of the League Roster page for your desired round. (Please click here for more information on the GHIN integration.)
    1. DONE! Repeat as necessary for each player and round.

    Inputting Or Editing Player Scores

    1. Select the round through the dropdown on the top-left.


    2. Select the player from the list.

    3. On the ensuing page, select the round you'd like to edit via the dropdown.


    4. Input (or edit) their scores in the scorecard below, then click Update to lock in your changes.

    5. DONE!
      1. If you would like to revert to the scorecard inputted via the app, click Revert back to player's scorekeeper scorecard, then Update.

    Sending A Push Notification To Your League Roster

    One of the benefits of keeping a League Roster up to date is leveraging the Targeted Push Notification feature of your app to send messages quickly. We've made it easy for you with a Send Push Notification button at the top of the League Roster Page. Simply click it, input your message, and click send.

    Make sure to have email addresses added to your players so they receive the Push Notifications. (We use this email address to match their app up and target them specifically.)
