Make sure your app has been properly set up and you are 100% ready to start rolling it out to your customers. Here are some items we recommend checking:
In the world of mobile apps, active users are essential for virtually any goal you as an app admin would like to accomplish. Are you looking to drive more tee time revenue? Elevate the experience for your customers? Promote upcoming events? All of these goals are impossible without eyeballs looking at your app on a consistent basis.
Here at Gallus Golf, we spend 365 days a year helping facilities maximize the potential of their mobile app. It all starts with downloads- after that, you'll be able to have an audience that's excited and hungry for content from your mobile app. Here are some pointers from our BOOST Marketing team.

Our Recommendations
1) Add A Download Link To Your Website
Your website is still one of the first places users go to learn about your facility, so it's important to alert users that your app is the number one place to go for updates. We recommend placing the promotion on the home page of your website and in the header at the top (so it'll appear on every page on your site). For this, you will need two things: your Smart Download link and Web Banner from the Promote App page. Follow these steps to find them:
On the ensuing page, you'll see your Smart Download link at the top. This is the link you'll need for any promotion.
Scroll down the page and you'll see a number of promo files. We recommend using the Web Banner file, but it's completely up to you.
2) Add A Promotion For Your App To Your Email Template's Footers
If you're like most facilities, email marketing is probably still a staple of your marketing strategy. Most marketing platforms allow for a template to be created with links at the bottom of the email to social media pages, websites, etc. Why not add a link for your app so users are consistently reminded it's there for them to download?
3) Add your download link to any booking confirmation emails from your POS.
Most booking engine providers allow for a confirmation email to be sent to users with details about their transaction and what they should expect upon arriving to the facility. Add something like the below to your confirmation emails:
BEFORE YOU ARRIVE, be sure to download our mobile app! Get driving range yardages, keep score, post your score to GHIN/Golf Canada, and view our menu all in one spot. PLUS, book your next tee time in the app and it will remember you the next time for a seamless experience.
DOWNLOAD NOW (Add the Smart URL link to this to make it easy for them to find.)
On the ensuing page, you'll see your Smart Download link at the top. This is the link you'll need for any promotion.
4) Put Print Materials Around Your Facility
When customers arrive, it's important to continually remind them of your app and what it can do to make their lives easier. Our graphic design team has created a number of files available in your dashboard for download. Follow these steps:
On the ensuing page, scroll down to the bottom. There you'll see a number of files available for download with a button below them to do so.
5) Encourage Staff Members To Tell Every Customer To Download Your App
Your staff is the first line of defense when a customer walks onto the facility, so it's important that they 1) Know the broad strokes of the app and 2) Mention the app's benefits to every individual that walks through the door.
Create a competition to see who can get the most app downloads in a certain amount of time and reward that staff member handsomely!
Social media is another important marketing channel that can be utilized for promoting the app. Our graphic design team has come up with a template you can use in social media posts, which can be found by following these steps:
On the ensuing page, you'll see your Smart Download link at the top. This is the link you'll need for any promotion.
Scroll down the page and you'll see a number of promo files. We recommend using the Social Media file, but it's completely up to you.
7) Run A Competition In Your App
The Virtual Caddie is historically one of the most utilized Gallus Golf mobile app features, so use it to your advantage in initial promo. Create a Custom Leaderboard to allow users to automatically be added in just by starting a scorecard, and encourage them to enter their email address when starting their round. Let it run for a specific amount of time and reward either the winner or a random participant handsomely at the end.
The MOST IMPORTANT PART is to promote this competition through all of the methods mentioned above to drive users to the app. Without that, no one will know about it!
